My Journey from Peasant Farming to AI Research
I was born in a remote village in Kenya, where access to quality education, healthcare, and modern technology was almost non-existent. My parents are peasant farmers—hardworking people who cultivated the land to feed our family, but who had no formal employment and very limited financial means.
Like many children in rural Kenya, I grew up without electricity, computers, or the internet. These were luxuries I only dreamed of. But I quickly realized that education was my only weapon against poverty.
Through sheer determination, I clawed my way through local schools, eventually earning my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and my Master of Science in Distributed Computing Technology.
🎓 Today: I have been officially admitted to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at the University of Nairobi. This is my chance to give back to the communities that raised me.
